A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US
Paul Buckley
Armed with a Computer Science degree, Paul spent years rolling out Expert Systems nationally — getting far more excited about databases than is strictly healthy. In 1993 he launched his own company, Datatrax, taking touchscreen tourism technology across three countries and into the mobile age. In 2023, Paul saw the light and came back to print — because print is real, tangible, and never needs rebooting.
These days, he heads up the This Week Magazine series nationally, a publication that has been going strong since 1957 — longer than his old computer systems lasted. Fittingly, Paul’s first job in publishing was with the Maitland Mercury back in 1983, armed with a glowing reference from Editor-in-Chief Dan Austin — who also happened to be his best mate’s dad. (Some might call that nepotism. Paul calls it networking, three decades ahead of LinkedIn.)

Nannette Holliday
Some people holiday. Nannette Holliday makes a life of it — Holliday is, quite literally, her real name. Based in Darwin and an authority on the Northern Territory she calls home, she’s spent two decades circling the globe as a freelance travel, lifestyle and content writer, chasing exceptional food, remarkable wine and the kind of hotels that ruin you for everywhere else. Her work has appeared in a variety of high-class national and international magazines, alongside two decades in TV, radio, government communications and her own award-winning advertising and design agency. She’s a published author and ghostwriter of three books, co-founder of IdeNTity Magazine, editor of the This Week In series, Senior Correspondent for xyzAsia, and a board secretary of the Australian Society of Travel Writers. The name on the passport is genuine. The adventures absolutely are too.
